Meet Rex!!

My new Pen Pal is Rex, a pitbull terrier mix who is between 1 and 2 years old. He came in to ACCT as a stray on January 5th.

He loves to play ball and usually brings it back for you to throw again. He will pull when going on walks, but calms down after he gets the excess energy out. I've been using a harness on him, which helps control him when he pulls.
He is very good at sit now and immediately sits so he can have his ball thrown or get a treat.
Next we'll be working on "down" and "stay."

I took Rex out of the shelter for the day and we went to Penns Landing for a long walk in the nice weather. He walked very politely and he had a great time.
When riding in the car with him, make sure he is securely buckled in! He wiggled out of his harness and before I knew it, he was in the front seat trying to get in my lap. He loves benches and as soon as we get out to the dog run to play, he sprints to the bench to chew his ball.
